“Often when I’ve parked my bike somewhere in the city centre of Amsterdam to go shopping, do groceries or anything else. I receive text messages from my friends saying, “Oh my god are you in the city centre as well?” I once bought my bike with this strikingly green crate decorated with flowers, because I couldn’t find my bike at Amsterdam central station. I searched really hard for an hour in this sea of bikes that are parked outside of the station. But after an hour I began to think that it was just stolen. That’s when I decided to report it stolen at the police. Doing that doesn’t make sense at all. I mean it’s Amsterdam! How are they going to find my bike when there are so many? Anyway, after a while, I went back to take another look and guess what, I found my bike. I couldn’t find it because there are just too many similar bikes. This is why I got a green crate that stands out so that I can always find my bike back in the chaos of bikes in Amsterdam. And now, ironically it’s being found by everyone I know.”
