Star Wars: A New Hope (1977): “…one of the warmest nostalgic memories that I have…”

Star Wars

“I saw the first Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) when I was 12 years old. I went to the theatres with my mother and together we shared this epic experience of seeing these huge yellow words appearing on the screen and disappearing into the distance. Afterwards, the camera would pan to a small spaceship followed by a much bigger one. Watching Star Wars with my mother on a big, kind of rounded, cinema screen is one of the warmest nostalgic memories that I have, but it also caused the fascination that I have for the Star Wars films. I find it amazing that we were watching what had happened later in the history of their universe in episodes 4 to 6 and that 20 years later we got to see how it all started as from episodes 1 to 3. How do you come to that idea? We are so used to see films and especially trilogies in chronological order, but that wasn’t the case with Star Wars. For a few years it was quiet and then four years ago they came with the episodes that happen after the first three films that I saw when I was a lot younger. We both recently saw the latest film and it was absolutely amazing.” – Guy

I am not really a science-fiction person. I just accompany him, because we have such fun together.” – Lady
